First Ilonggo MTV Show
Launched @ Dinagyang Festival
Music is the language of the soul,” indeed, it is for Ilonggos. Music
is also one of the most recognizable legacies that remain etched in
their culture. In this fast-forward modern age of internet, social
networking phenomenon and MP3, Ilonggo music made its multi-facetted
revival that stamped a mark in the consciousness of younger generation
of Ilonggos. A blend of pop, hiphop, reggae, rock and RnB, Ilonggo
artists and singers whose undeniable talents can be heard in FM radio,
internet and everywhere to prove that music is a powerful force of
passion.
Inspired by the undeniable popularity of Ilonggo music and its essence
as a cultural phenomenon, a new Cable TV show that will play Ilonggo
songs, music videos and local VJs titled “RSLPhoenix MTV” will be
launched on January 21, 2012, 5PM at Iloilo Provincial Capitol Grounds
in time for the Dinagyang Festival. RSLPhoenix MusicTV scheduled to be
aired at Tatak Ilonggo channel 41-Skycable Iloilo is a weekly
30-minute program set to be the very first Ilonggo MTV show. The event
will be a mini-concert of today’s rising Ilonggo recording artists
with Manila guest artists. For today’s new generation of Ilonggo
artists, this unique TV show is a significant venue to highlight and
expose their talents in music. RSLPhoenix MTV will soon have its
official Youtube channel where every episode will be uploaded online.

Espinosa, Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, Museo Iloilo, 8finity Events and

Provincial Government and the Office of Culture, Arts and Tourism.
