Unveiling his heart and soul, Ilonggo actor
Chuck Luat, he sincerely answered some interesting questions about his upcoming
film and his passion for film making.
What makes film making a significant passion
for you as an artist?
-Ever since I was a kid, I was interested with Images and Arts. Since high school to college, I was in a band, a vocalist and a guitarist, and was really into arts such as drawing and painting. I took acting in a film school in Cebu and won an award as a Best Actor and 2nd Best Film in the Sinulog Film Festival. These experiences made me more confident in pursuing my dream to be an actor. I just love entertaining people.
What convinced you to accept this film project?
-When I heard the story line which portrays about family, I thought to myself, "why not grab this opportunity to act as how reality is". And I wanted to challenge myself to act out in a heavy drama film as well, so I accepted this project.
What have you learned from R.P. as a director and mentor for this movie?
-Patience, Cooperation and Respect are the most valuable learnings I grabbed from him. Even if we're exhausted with the filming, we maintained these values especially for our love for this film.
What makes your role in this movie different from your previous projects?
-The difference is that It's based on reality which I could somewhat relate to. It's not fantasy nor from wild imaginations. It's life. A life where in most people doesn't know that it's actually happening around.
What can we expect from this film especially it is an Ilonggo film aimed to attract regional film making?
-Expect a lot of emotions to be filled out along the story. There will be hatred and sorrow along the way but in the end, love and happiness will be their ever after.
Are there any other challenging projects that you're dreaming to do in the near future?
-I want to be in an Action film. (Yung hindi corny ha, and yung hindi fake [:D] )
What are your expectations in making this project?
-We are hoping that this film will touch people’s lives and will give them realizations on how bountiful they are in life, with money or none. For the greatest riches we received in life are not materials, but the family which we spend our everyday with, together or even from far away.
Where did you get all the motivation and emotions you have shown in shooting your scenes for this movie?
-Everybody has their own version of stories to tell. I had compiled my emotions from my experiences with my family and friends, may it be good or bad. These are contributions that made me step up today especially with my career.
Do you have any advice/s for aspiring actors?
-Analize your script first. Read between the lines and broaden your thinking. Stay focused and relaxed and always experiment in front of the mirror. Always be yourself for natural acting is the best acting. Grab your confidence from the things or experiences YOU HAVE, not with what you WANT TO HAVE.
What are the most memorable experiences you've had in making this film?
-The confrontation of the family and the confession of Voltaire with his feelings to Anabelle. It wasn't easy to cry in front of the camera but I did my best not to disappoint my director and my fellow actors.
