Atty. Vice Mayor Joe III's "Kahehan sa Barangay": Passion for Service

The passion to serve has always been a calling for Atty. Jose “Joe
III” Espinosa who now traverses a life of a public servant as Iloilo
City’s elected Vice Mayor. More than just a leader, Vice Mayor Joe III
has a heart for the less fortunate and believes that volunteerism is a
significant task.
As the 8th child of Jose Espinosa Jr. and Lolita V. Sanson, Joe III
has been noted for his will to excel. He earned his Bachelor Degree in
Political Science and Economics at the University of San Agustin, and
graduated in the School of Law and Graduate Studies in the same
university.
His appointment as Iloilo City Legal Officer in 2003 opened a doorway
for his success in politics as a 2- time elected Iloilo City Councilor
and in 2010, he was elected Vice Mayor of Iloilo City. His dynamic
involvement in both civic, sports events and organization strengthen
his passion to serve his fellow Ilonggos.
As a family where his passion to serve continued to flourish, he is
married to former Miss Gina Agnes Divinagracia Sarabia, a gemologist
and were blessed with four daughters namely Regine Amparo, Maria
Patricia, Beatrice Mary Agnes and Ma. Christina Isabel.
Reaching out to the less fortunate kids in Iloilo City, Joe III
started his feeding programs every Saturday in different barangays and
communities. The project is a hand-in-hand effort of Sen. Manny Villar
to give joy and relief to the poor Ilonggo families. The event started
in the morning with activities, medical mission, feeding and
entertainment. His vision to be a relevant public servant has been
fruitful by leading regular events such as “Kapehan sa Barangay”
wherein people in different communities are given the chance to
inquire for different kind of assistance from his office. The program
is the best way to bridge the voice of the community and provide
selfless public service that is responsive and committed to the
welfare of every one in Iloilo City.  His programs and activities are
regularly featured in Tatak Ilonggo aired at Skycable Channel 41 with
a relevant goal to pursue his dream of serving others through media.
A good leader is measured by his will and passion to serve selflessly.
Vice Mayor Joe III has always been keen in devoting his time in giving
Ilonggos a great example of service from the heart, humility and
commitment to bring hope and change.
