Ajuy Crowns Lin-ay Sang Tambobo 2015

AJUY, ILOILO – The Municipality of Ajuy, Iloilo crowned their newest cultural ambassadress that would promote the town’s rich cultural heritage and popular Tambobo Festival during their annual search for Lin-ay Sang Tambobo 2015 on September 7, 2015 at Ramon Rojas, Jr. Memorial Gym. This year, 8 gorgeous candidates competed for the town’s prestigious beauty pageant from various categories such festival attire, casual wear, playsuit, talent, gown and interview.
The pageant opened with a grandiose production number that served as the official launching of the Tambobo Festival Official Theme Song and Music Video performed by local artist Jamela Puyo and rap artist Rodj Metaphorhyme, composed by Ronelo Ladiao and Jaylord Capalihan, and  produced by Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (NIPSC) – Ajuy Campus College Administrator,   Dr. Cirilo Deocariza. Ajuy Mayor Hon. Juan Alvarez shared his welcome message to the guests and the townfolks. NIPSC – Ajuy and Tambobo Festival dancers and artists performed intermission numbers during the pageant. One of the notable judges during the pageant is the reigning Ms. Iloilo Paraw Regatta Aliwan and Ms. Bikini Philippines finalist Angela Yagaya.
The runner-up winners of Lin-ay sang Tambobo 2015 are Karla Joy Bayona as Lin-ay sang Paghiliugyon, Flaridel Tocar as Lin-ay Sang Kalinong, Ma. Joana Batadhan as Lin-ay sang Kaumhan and Joyce Ann Belonio as Lin-ay Sang Kadagatan. The pageant’s major titles and crowns were awarded to Meriel Belonio as Lin-ay sang Tambobo – Environment, Geraldine Abong as Lin-ay sang Tambobo – Tourism, and Cathlyn Clyde Layson won this year’s Lin-ay Sang Tambobo 2015.   The Tambobo Festival queen will represent the town of Ajuy in the annual Kanaway Festival, a district-wide annual beauty pageant representing various festivals in Northern Iloilo.  The pageant anchored to the town’s annual cultural festivity inspired by a local term “Tambobo” which means “a storehouse for goods and agricultural products aimed for merriment and devotion” is organized and managed by NIPSC – Ajuy, spearheaded by Dr. Cirilo Deocariza, Pageant Director Portia Sta. Ana and Student Affairs Director Ann Azucena. Ajuy Mayor Juan Alvarez, Vice Mayor Jose Rojas IV and the Sangguniang Bayan co-produced the pageant. The Tambobo Festival kicked off with various activities such fun run, social affairs night, talent competition, musical-variety show and cultural tribe presentation from September 7-10 leading to the town’s annual fiesta celebration.
