The municipality of Ajuy, a second class municipality in the
province of Iloilo, 93 kilometers away from Iloilo City is a town rich in
natural resources from agricultural land, marine resources, pristine seashore, beautiful
islands and culture-loving people will be celebrating its annual Tambobo Festival
this September 8-10, 2015. “Tambobo” is a Hiligaynon term for “a storehouse or
a storage structure for agricultural products, or other goods and kept until a
demand or need arises,” denotes a passionate presentation of the town’s
incomparable and unequalled bliss of human, material and natural wealth.
Ushering a new frontier for the yearly cultural festivity,
the Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (NIPSC) – Ajuy Campus spearheaded
by College Administrator Dr. Cryil C. Deocariza together with Ajuy Local
Government Unit (LGU) under the leadership of Mayor Juancho Alvarez concerted
an effort to produce the official theme song of Tambobo Festival this year. The
original song written by RSLPhoenix Music and music by Jaylourd Zpinx Capalihan
is a catchy fusion of tribal beats and danceable pop music performed by local
artists Jamela Puyo and Rodjie Justado of Metaphorhyme.
“Pursuing the new creative and cultural concept to establish
the official theme song and music video of Tambobo Festival this year, will serve
as an eye-opener for other municipalities in the province of Iloilo to elevate
the kind of promotion they have for their respective festivals,” reveals Dr.
Cyril Deocariza. “Technology, social media and music are consistently evolving
to suit the kind of synergy for young people these days. The Tambobo Festival theme song is our
effective medium to connect to people of all walks of life either locally or
through the internet in promoting the cultural heritage of Ajuy,” he
added.
The official music
video co-produced by RSLPhoenix Music, Kuris Animation and Marx de Silva
Photography will be released online with free audio download on September 7,
2015 at youtube.com. The song will be officially launched during the production
number of ‘Lin-ay Sang Tambobo,’ a yearly festival beauty pageant on the same
evening at Ramon Rojas, Jr. Memorial Gym.
